How to Reach Cheengeri Hills Wayanad?
From Sulthan Bathery: If you are coming from Sulthan Bathery or Mysore side, you can follow Sulthan Bathery – Kolagapara – Ambalavayal route. Just before reaching Ambalavayal town circle, you can take right on Ambalavayal – Karapuzha route. Cheengeri Hills is just 2 km from Ambalavayal. Sulthan Bathery to Cheengeri Hills distance is 14 km.
From Kalpetta: From Kalpetta to Cheengeri Mala, you can follow Kalpetta – Meenangadi – 54th Mile. You can take a right turn at the 54th mile and take the route to Ambalavayal and further to Cheengeri hills. Kalpetta to Cheengeri Mala Trekking distance is 22 km.
From Vythiri: From Kalpetta to Cheengeri Rock Adventure Tourism, you can follow Vythiri – Kalpetta – Meenangadi – 54th Mile. Further, follow the route as mentioned above to Cheengeri hills. Vythiri to Cheengeri distance is 35 km.
From Mananthavadi: From Mananthavadi/Panamaram side, you can take Mananthavadi – Meenangadi – 54th mile and further as above. The distance from Mananthavadi to Cheengeri hills trekking is 40 km.
Entry Fee and Timings
It is best to go early morning or in the evening to see the Sunrise or Sunset. Timings to visit Cheengeri Hills and Entry Fee are mentioned below:
Entry time for Cheengeri Hills trekking is 6 AM to 9:30 AM and 2 PM to 4:30 PM. Exit time from Cheengeri Rock Adventure Tourism is 6 PM. If you are planning for a Sunset view, try to reach by 4 PM and you will be surprised by the breathtaking view from the top.
Entry Fee for Cheengeri Hills Wayanad for Adults is Rs 80, while for Children below 12 Yrs it is Rs 50. However, if you go only to the leisure zone, the tickets will be Rs 30 and Rs 20 respectively.
