How to Reach Cheengeri Hills Wayanad?
From Sulthan Bathery: If you are coming from Sulthan Bathery or Mysore side, you can follow Sulthan Bathery – Kolagapara – Ambalavayal route. Just before reaching Ambalavayal town circle, you can take right on Ambalavayal – Karapuzha route. Cheengeri Hills is just 2 km from Ambalavayal. Sulthan Bathery to Cheengeri distance is 14 km.
From Kalpetta: From Kalpetta to Cheengeri Mala, you can follow Kalpetta – Meenangadi – 54th Mile. You can take a right turn at the 54th mile and take the route to Ambalavayal and further to Cheengeri.
From Vythiri: From Kalpetta to Cheengeri, you can follow Vythiri – Kalpetta – Meenangadi – 54th Mile. Further, follow the route as mentioned above to Cheengeri. Vythiri to Cheengeri distance is 35 km.
From Mananthavadi: From Mananthavadi/Panamaram side, you can take Mananthavadi – Meenangadi – 54th mile and further as above. The distance from Mananthavadi to Cheengeri is 40 km.
Cheengeri Hills Timing
It is best to go early morning or in the evening to see the Sunrise or Sunset.
Entry time for Cheengeri trekking is 5 AM to 10 AM and 3 PM to 7 PM. Exit time from Cheengeri Rock Adventure Tourism is 6 PM. If you are planning for a Sunset view, try to reach by 4 PM and you will be surprised by the breathtaking view from the top (Updated 14 May 25).
