Wayanad Muthanga wildlife sanctuary also feature Jeep Safari. Safari timings are the same as the bus. However the fee for jeep safari is on higher side. Muthanga Wildlife Sanctuary Jeep Safari online booking is not available. You will have to arrive at the counter half hour before the entry time to get the tickets. Durig peak seaon/holiday season, reaching earlier is suggested.

• Bangalore to Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary Route: Bangalore-Mysore- Gundalpet (Turn right on Calicut route) – Muthanga.  Bangalore to Muthanga distance is 240 km, covered in 5 h. Bangalore Airport to Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary is 283 km, covered in 5h 50 min. It is presently known as Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport (BLR).
• Mysore to Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary Route: Mysore- Gundalpet (Turn right on Calicut route) – Muthanga. Mysore to Muthanga distance is 100 km, covered in 2 h.
• Nearest Railway Station to Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary is Mysore Railway Station  at a distance of 92 km, covered in 2 h . Kozhikode Railway Station, known as Calicut (CLT) to Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary distance is 117 km, covered in 3 h 20 min.

If you are traveling from Bangalore to Wayanad or Mysore to Wayanad late evening, it is necessary to know Muthanga Forest Closing Time. When you travel from Muthanga – Gundalpete route, the checkpost after Muthanga at Karnataka border closes at 9 PM. When you travel from Gundlupete – Muthanga route, the entry point at 12 km from Gundlupete closes by 9 PM. Traffic through the forest is restricted during the night and it reopens at 6 AM.
