3. Muthanga Wildlife – Edakkal Caves – Museum – Cheengeri Hills
Places covered are Edakkal Caves (this is a cleft between rock, 1 km semi-hard trekking from the parking area, wonderful view from top, famous for pre-historic carvings on the wall of the cave).
Muthanga Wild Life Sanctuary (Wildlife sanctuary on Sulthan Bathery-Mysore road, jungle safari available in morning and evening, need to reach at least 1 hour before the scheduled time, the ticket subject to availability of jeep on arrival).

5. Kuruva Islands – Tholpetty Wildlife – Thirunelli Temple – Pazhassi Tomb

If you are staying in Mananthavady/Panamaram/Meenangadi/Padinjarathara are, you can consider this Wayanad 1 Day Trip. Try to reach Kuruva Island by 0830 h. You also would be able to cover Meenmutty Waterfalls, if there is no much rush in the activities at Banasura Sagar Dam and Karlad Lake.

9. Edakkal Caves – Phantom Rock – Karapuzha Dam – Uravu

How to Reach Wayanad?
Wayanad is well connected with major cities by air, rail and road routes. The nearest railway station to Wayanad is Calicut (CLT – also known as Kozhikode). The nearest Airport to Wayanad is Calicut International Airport (CCJ). Wayanad is very well connected to cities like Bangalore, Calicut, Mysore, Kochi, Ooty and Coimbatore by road.
- To travel from Bangalore to Wayanad, you can follow Mandya-Mysore-Nanjanagud- Gundlupete – Wayanad route. The distance from Bangalore Airport to Wayanad (Kalpetta) is 323 km, covered in 7 hrs during normal traffic. Starting early morning from Bangalore is suggested. Also, there are buses from Bangalore to Wayanad at regular intervals from Bangalore Satellite bus stand (Kengeri), which can be booked on KSRTC Kerala or Karnataka website.
- Mysore to Wayanad can be covered in 3 hrs via Mysore – Nanjanagud – Gundlupete – Kalpetta (Wayanad). The distance from Mysore to Wayanad (Kalpetta) is 140 km. You can travel by cab or bus. Buses will be available from Mysore Suburban stand.
- Calicut (also known as Kozhikode) to Wayanad route is Calicut – Koduvally – Adivaram -Kalpetta (Waynad). The distance between Calicut and Wayanad (Kalpetta) is about 80 km and it takes around 2 h to reach Wayanad from Calicut.
