Pakshipathalam: Another prominent and tempting trekking is offered by Pakshipathalam near Thirunelli Temple in Wayanad. Pakshipathalam is located at a height of 1,740 meters above sea level and offers a challenging location for adventurous trekking in Wayanad. With an exigent distance of 16 km, Pakshipathalam trek takes you through wild forests, deep caves and thick rock blocks. A 9 km trek to the top of the Brahmagiri peak is another thrilling experience with picturesque view of the entire landscape around the Brahmagiri hill. The hill presents a gripping view of the surroundings from its slopes even. The slope can get quite steep towards the peak, but the vista that awaits you at the summit will clear off all the tiredness of a laborious journey. Kattu Kunnu and Saipu Kunnu : Kattu Kunnu (means Windy Hill) bestows a spectacular view of Banasura Sagar Dam and Kakkayam Dam. Most part of South Part of Wayanad is visible from the hill.
