Sultan Battery: Constructed by the mighty and fierce warrior and ruler, Tippu Sultan in the year 1784, the Sultan Battery Watch Tower is a tourist amusement. An infamous history that continues to lingers around is the truth that the watch tower was constructed from the ripped off boulder stones of 23 churches destroyed by Tipu Sultan, during his 15-year imprisonment of the Mangalorean Catholics and the other Christians. Milagres Church: Built in 1680, this historic Roman Catholic Church is one of the oldest churches in Dhakshina Karnataka. Being one of the finest churches, there are numerous statues that line up the walls of the church. Dedicated to ‘Our Lady of Miracles’, this church was initially built on the ‘today’s world’ cemetery.
