Netravathi River: Considered as one of the holy rivers in India, Netravathi River flows through the well famed Dharmastala. Spluttering down from the heights of Western Ghats, the River merges with the Arabian Sea. The Kanya Kumari – Panavel Bridge, built over River Netravati is the longest bridge in India. Known as the Dhakshina Jeeva Nadi, the Netravati River is the main source of transport by means of water, fishing, power generation and is also used for drinking purposes. Covering a wide area of 103 km by length, the river water shores at Mangalore, Bantwal, Pane Mangalore, Dharmasthala and Ullal.
Sultan Battery: Constructed by the mighty and fierce warrior and ruler, Tippu Sultan in the year 1784, the Sultan Battery Watch Tower is a tourist amusement. An infamous history that continues to lingers around is the truth that the watch tower was constructed from the ripped off boulder stones of 23 churches destroyed by Tipu Sultan, during his 15-year imprisonment of the Mangalorean Catholics and the other Christians. Legend has it that this place was the most important dockyard and arsenal of Tipu Sultan and was also used as a naval station to intercept enemy warships and prevent them from docking.
Milagres Church: Built in 1680, this historic Roman Catholic Church is one of the oldest churches in Dhakshina Karnataka. In spite of being built in the middle of the city, this church has ample lot of space and has been maintained and managed beautifully. Being one of the finest churches, there are numerous statues that line up the walls of the church. Dedicated to ‘Our Lady of Miracles’, this church was initially built on the ‘today’s world’ cemetery.
Someshwara Beach: Known as the hidden jewel of Karnataka, the Someshwara Beach with its white silvery shiny shores with huge rock and the mesmerizing and beautiful backdrop is every tourists’ heaven and a photographers’ delight.
